Alberta big trucks information – truck weights and dimensions

Alberta has standard Canadian weights with a 63,500 kg B-Train permitted, as well as a six axle semi truck that can carry 46,500 kgs. Alberta is also notable for its extensive LCV network, with Rocky Mountain Doubles permitted throughout the province on designated 2 lane highways. Turnpike doubles and triples are also permitted on select highways. Alberta, like other Western Canadian Provinces is not very welcoming of super single tires (which require a permit) and of spread tandems (which are allowed the same weight as one axle).
