Florida has some slightly larger combinations than federally regulated sizes. Trucks can be permitted for up to 88,000 lbs off of interstate roads, and turnpike double combinations are permitted on the Florida turnpike. However, turnpike doubles must be assembled and disassembled on staging yards that are located on the turnpike. Additionally, straight trucks in Florida have increased weights permitted. Also, axle weights are increased in Florida with 44,000 lbs tandem axle weights permitted.
