South Carolina Tractor Trailer Weight and Dimension Limits

South Carolina has some differences from normal truck weights and dimensions, especially relevant for shippers and carriers utilizing smaller vehicles. Straight trucks have less weight available to them than those calculated under the federal bridge formula. A three axle straight truck can only carry 50,600 lbs. However, good news for the truck driver because scaling out should be easier in South Carolina, with axle weights increased on the interstate and state road for tandem axle groupings.
